Norman Albert Rasch, 79, of Summerfield, Fla., formerly of Unionville, passed away
unexpectedly on Sunday, July 23, 2000, at the Monroe Regional Hospital, Ocala, Fla. He
was born Oct. 1, 1920, in Detroit, son of the late Norman and Alice I. (Davidson) Rasch.
On June 20, 1941, he was united in marriage to Maxine Mae Raymond in Fraser. Maxine
and Norman had been married for more than 59 years. Norman had been a self-employed
carpenter in the Unionville area for many years and also for Michigan State University
before retiring and moving to Florida in 1985. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran
and a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Summerfield, Fla. Surviving besides his
wife, Maxine, are three daughters and a son: Norma Kemp and her husband, John, Karen
Davidson and her husband, Donald Krust, Janet Mitchell and William Rasch; nine
grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by a sister, Irene Dembinksi; and a brother, Edward (Horace) Rasch.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2000, at the DinkelJuengel Funeral Home, Inc., Sebewaing, a Golden Rule Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles
Kuhl, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Sebewaing, will officiate with burial in
Demorest Cemetery near Akron. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. tonight and from 9 a.m.
until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St.
John Lutheran Church in Summerfield.
